Energy Conservation

  • Set all electronic equipment to energy saving mode (PCs, Laptops, Photocopiers etc.)
  • Check that all the electronic devices are turned off before leaving
  • Avoid switching on lights in areas where natural lights is abundantly available
  • Switch off lights and ceiling fans when leaving an empty classroom
  • Utilize the nature winds as much as possible to reduce the use of fans and air conditioning
  • Set air conditioning to at least 25°C

Waste & Management Recycling

  • Carry out recycling drive. Set up recycling bins in school and recycle paper, aluminum cans and plastic bottles
  • Assign a proper recycling company to collect recycled waste, used office equipment and toner cartridges and bottles
  • Allocate specific areas for recycle waste disposal
  • Create waste segregation labeling and place it around the school
  • Composting the nature waste to be used as fertilizer for the school garden

Environmental Education & Initiatives

  • Cultivate green habits in school by displaying posters and stickers with tips on saving energy and resources
  • Educate students of all level about 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle)
  • Set up Environmental Committee and actively involve in managing the school's green environment
  • Plant fruits and vegetables in the school garden
  • Assign students to participate in hands-on environmental activities such as pick up litters and manage waste segregation in school
  • Organise at least one environmental competition every year
  • Educate students about carbon footprints and encourage them to manage and reduce their daily carbon footprints as and when possible
  • Organise regular outdoor excursion for students to places that revolve on the nature environment
  • Involve the entire school to participate in the Clean & Green Singapore activities. For more information:

Resource Conservation

  • Use duplex printing to minimize the excess paper usage
  • Use on both side of paper: reuse the other side of paper to minimize excess paper usage
  • Regular check on the school taps to reduce the possibility of any water leakage
  • Use scrap paper and recycle materials (aluminum, plastic, cardboard etc.) for art & craft projects/school works
  • Submit school projects in softcopy (reduce print)
  • Use permanent cutlery and cups in school
  • Practice "No Plastic Bag" at school bookshop to make it a protocol for student to bring their own recycling bag when purchase bulk items
